SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 15.75 inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, 9.76 inches in Hpa-an, 8.66 inches in Manaung, 8.31 inches in Kamamaung, 7.99 inches in Ann, 7.84 inches in Shwekyin, 7.09 inches in Madauk, 6.89 inches in Gwa, 6.77 inches Paung and 6.57 inches in Sittwe.

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the North Bay of Bengal and adjoining Coastal areas of Bangladesh and Gangetic West Bengal, India. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and cross Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand, India during next 2 days. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in (Northern and Eastern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40-45 mph. Wave height will be about 11-14 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph.  Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw and Yangon Region and scattered in Mandalay Region.
