24-10-2025:According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over Southeast and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal on 25-10-2025 and further into a Deep Depression on 26-10-2025 and into a Cyclonic Storm over the Southwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal on 27-10-2025. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 26th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Rakhine States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40-45 mph. Wave height will be about 11-14 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
