SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kayin State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 9.68 inches in Hainggyigyun, 4.65 inches in Kamamaung, 3.66 inches in Hpa-an, 3.27 inches in Myeik, 3.23 inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, 3.11 inches in Sittwe, 2.91 inches in Belin, 2.64 inches in Thaton, 2.60 inches in Labutta and 2.13 inches each in Phyu and Mawlamyingyun.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the depression has crossed Odisha Coast near South of Puri (India), reached to Odisha and it is likely to move Northwestwards and may recach to Chhattisgarh (India). It will weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next (12)hrs. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and strong to vigorous over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40-45 mph. Wave height will be about 9-14 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 8-12 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
