8-9-2024:: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Northwest and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move nearly Northwards and may further intensify into a Depression over the Northwest Bay of Bengal (off North Odisha- Gangetic West Bengal Coast, India) during next 24 hours.Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon state and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 7.28 inches in Kyeikkhame, 6.30 inches in Chaungsone, 5.28 inches in Mudon, 4.93 inches in Ye, 4.02 inches in Thaton, 3.39 inches in Myeik, 2.96 inches each in Hpa-an and Mawlamyine, 2.91 inches in Hainggyigyun, 2.87 inches in Paung and 2.56 inches in Kawkareik.

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal. It may further intensify and move Northwestwards towards Odisha Coast, India. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Chin State, fairly widespread in Kachin, Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Rakhine States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40-45 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-14 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
