30-11-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 755 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 50 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 55 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions, scattered in Kachin, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Bago,  Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon states. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.16 inches each in Tharrawady and Zalun, 5.12 inches in Kawthaung, 4.69 inches in Putao, 3.42 inches in Chaungsone, 2.56 inches in Myeik, 2.32 inches in Kawkareik, 2.28 inches in Bago, 2.04 inches in Dawei, 1.96 inches each in Hsipaw and Coco-Island and 1.85 inches in Kyeikmayaw.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Kachin, (Northern and Southern) Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40-45 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-14 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
