30-11-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 755 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 50 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 55 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Magway Region and Eastern Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Yangon Regions and Rakhine, Kayin States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.24 inches in Dawei, 4.96 inches in Kyeikkhame, 3.98 inches each in Hkamti and Sittwe, 3.94 inches in Kyaunggon, 3.78 inches in Myeik, 3.61 inches in Ye, 3.44 inches in Kangyidaung, 3.30 inches in Yangon (Botahtaung), 3.03 inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit and 3.00 inches in Hpa-an.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 14th July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions, scattered in Northern Shan, Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35-40 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhin, Kayin, Mon States.
