24-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off South Andhra Pradesh-North Tamil Nadu Coasts, India) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and weaken gradually into a Low Pressure Area during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been Isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Yangon Regions and Kachin, Kayin States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 6.65 inches in Hkamti, 5.47 inches in Hpa-an, 4.76 inches in Belin, 4.37 inches in Machanbaw, 4.21 inches in Thaton, 3.74 inches in Paung, 3.66 inches in Mudon, 3.23 inches in Theinzayet, 3.07 inches in Hmawbi(Agro-Met) and 2.84 inches in Putao.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 01st July 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in (Southern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States.
