27-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 730 Nautical miles West-Southwest of CoCo Island (Myanmar), 270 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India). The centre pressure of Deep Depression is 1001 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35 miles per hour.Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Yangon Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.25 inches in Belin, 3.85 inches in Coco Island, 3.71 inches in Myeik, 3.39 inches in Shwegu, 3.11 inches in Madauk, 2.91 inches in Monyin, 2.80 inches in Mogoke, 2.67 inches in Kyaukmae, 2.64 inches in Shwekyin and 2.60 inches in Hpa-an.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th June 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Yangon Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 40 mph. Wave height will be about 9 - 11 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6 - 8 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Continuations of increase of rain in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
