BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Bay and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 22nd May 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Regions and (Southernand Eastern) Shan, Kayin States, scattered in Mandalay Region and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States and isolated in Sagaing, Magway Regions with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon States. Degree of certainty is 80%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about 5-7 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Maon States.
