SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Chin State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan State and isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C above April average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and 2°C above April average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 42°C each in Magway, Aunglan, Taungdwingyi and Pyay and 41°C each in Sagaing, Chauk, Minbu, Tharrawady, Hinthada and Ngathaichaung. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were 0.59 inch in Kanbalu, 0.28 inch in Momate, 0.24 inch in Pinlaung, 0.19 inch each in Monyin, Mogoke and 0.16 inch each in Lashio, Mingin.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the South Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th APRIL 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon Regions and Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
