SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State, fairly widespread in Kachin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State and isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Southern Shan State. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C above April average temperatures in Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan State, 2°C above April average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Mon States and 5°C below April average temperature in Northern Shan State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 45°C in Chauk, 44°C each in Myingyan, Naung Oo and Magway and 43°C each in Tada-U (Aviation-Met), Minbu and Sinbyugyun. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were 1.69 inches in Myitkyina, 1.30 inches in Hakha, 1.14 inches in Falam, 0.43 inch in Tamu, 0.32 inch in Kalewa, 0.28 inch in Mogaung, 0.24 inch each in Tiddim and Tongzan and 0.20 inch each in Hispaw and Muse.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th APRIL 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
