SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Kachin State, scattered in (Northern and Eastern) Shan State and isolated in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Southern Shan State. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C to 4°C above April average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, (Northern and Southern) Shan States and 2°C above April average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon Regions and Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Mon States and about April average temperature in Kayin State. The significant day temperatures were 45°C in Chauk, 44°C in Aunglan and 43°C each in Myinmu, Kyaukse(Lunkyaw), Magway, Taungdwingyi and Pyay. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were 0.32 inch in Bhamo, 0.16 inch each in Putao and Hsipaw, 0.12 inch in Shwegu and 0.08 inch each in Machanbaw and Kengtung.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th APRIL 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kachin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Chin States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine States.
