28-10-2025:According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “MONTHA” over the Southwest Bay and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and reached over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is centered at about 585 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 195 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Chennai(India), 160 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Kakinada (India). It is likely continue to move North-Northwestwards and intensify into Severe Cyclonic Storm during next 6 hours and cross Andhra Pradesh Coast during next 24 hours. Weather is Cloudy over the West central Bay of Bengal, a few cloud to partly cloudy  Andaman Sea  and lsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kachin State. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Southern Shan State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 5°C above April average temperatures in (Southern and Eastern) Shan, 3°C to 4°C above April average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Chin States, 2°C above April average temperatures in Bago Region and Kachin, Kayah States and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 47°C in Chauk, 45°C each in Nyaung Oo, Magway, 44°C each in Sagaing, Myingyan, Tada U(Aviation-Met), Minbu, Aunglan, Taungdwingyi, Gangaw and Sinbyugyun and 43°C each in Shwebo, Monywa, Myinmu, Mandalay, Thazi(Hlaingtat) and Pakokku. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were 0.16 inch each in Putao and Machanbaw.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 8th APRIL 2024: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kachin State and isolated in Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Chin State. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Kayin, Mon States.
