SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Yangon Region, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Northern and Southern) Shan and Kayah States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (4°C) below March average temperature in Eastern Shan State and (2°C) below March average temperature in Kayin State and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (40°C) in Chauk, (39°C) each in Minbu and Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kyeikkhame (0.55)inch, Kengtung (0.39) inch, Minesat (0.24)inch and Thanton (0.20)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observation at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Comorin area, South Siri Lanka and Southwest Bay of Bengal now lies over Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining South Sri Lanka and Maldives – Comorin area still persists.Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and East central Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th MARCH, 2018: Rain or thundershowers are to be likely isolated in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (60%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3 - 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of likelihood of rain or thundershowers in Kachin and Shan States.
