SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayin State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and Eastern Shan, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.02) inches in Shwebo, (3.74) inches in Madaya, (3.50) inches in Singu, (3.38) inches Pyinoolwin(Zeepingyi), (3.23) inches in Kyaukse, (3.20) inches in Patheingyi(Shwesayan), (3.15) inches in Tada U(Aviation), (2.96) inches in Natogyi, (2.92) inches in Thipaw and (2.83) inches in Kyaukmae.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Typhoon “Saola” over the South China Sea is slowly moving West-Northwestwards. It may reach the near Southern coast of China during next (36)hrs.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 01st September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
