SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Kayin State and isolated heavyfalls in Chin, Rakhine States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (6.18) inches in Myawaddy, (4.72) inches in Paletwa, (4.49) inches in Kyauktaw, (4.45) inches in Ela(Airport), (3.98) inches in Kawkareik, (2.75) inches in Paing Kyone, (2.56) inches each in Pyinmana(Walgyi) and Shan-Ywar-Thit, (2.44) inches in Ye, (2.28) inches in Thaton and (2.16) inches in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri).
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 07th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States. STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
