SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Magway Region and (Eastern and Northern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (3.74) inches in Thaton, (3.39) inches in Hainggyigyun, (2.91) inches in Hpa-an, (2.36) inches each in Mawlaik, Htilin and Launglon, (2.04) inches in Myeik, (1.77) inches in Taungkok, (1.73) inches in Loikaw and (1.69) inches each in Kalay, Thandwe.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha Coast, India now lies over South Odisha-North Andhrapradesh, India and adjoining Northwest and Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and will cross South Odisha-North Andhrapradesh Coasts, India during next (36) hours. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd July, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30- 35) mph. Wave height will be about (7-10) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
