SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (7.36) inches in Paung, (6.46) inches in Mawlamyine, (6.30) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (6.14) inches in Hpa-an, (5.87) inches in Thandwe, (5.19) inches in Myitkyina, (4.53) inches in Mogaung, (4.49) inches in Launglon, (4.02) inches in Monyin,  (3.94) inches in Kawkareik, (3.86) inches in Chaungsone, (3.78) inches in Mudon and (3.46) inches in Hainggyigyun.

 

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal (off Odisha Coast, India) now lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha Coast, India. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and will cross Odisha, India during next (48) hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st July, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35- 40) mph. Wave height will be about (8-11) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of moderate to strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
