BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (05:30)hrs MST today, the Tropical Strom“Talim” over the Southern part of China coast is downgraded into a Land Depression over the Upper Vietnam. It is forecast gradually weaken into a low pressure area.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 19th July, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Saging Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45) mph. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about (10-13) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (7-9) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan States.
