SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Northern Shan State, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Kachin, (Northern and Southern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (5.79) inches in Pauktaw, (3.97) inches in Sittwe, (3.80) inches in Ponnagyun, (2.99) inches in Kyeikkhame, (2.86) inches in Pathein, (2.79) inches Maungdaw, (2.76) inches in Phyu, (2.60) inches in Rathedaung, (2.46) inches in Minbya and (2.32) inches in Thandwe.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs MST today, the tropical depression over the South China Sea has moved West-Northwestwards and intensified into a Tropical Storm “Talim”. It is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th July, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30 - 35) mph. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
