SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Mon State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Kayin States and isolated in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon Regions and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) to (6°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and (2°C) above May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (44°C) in Chauk and (42°C) each in Myinmu, Nyaung Oo, Tada U(Aviation), Minbu, Magway, Taungdwingyi and Hpasaung. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (1.69) inches in Kyeikkhame, (1.30) inches in Kawthaung, (1.18) inches in Paung, (0.91) inch in Chaungsone, (0.86) inch each in Kawkareik and Mawlamyine and (0.71) inch in Naypyitaw(Zeyarthiri).
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Mon State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon Regions and Kachin, Kayin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
The CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing over the Taninthayi Region and Northern Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
