BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over Southeast Bay of Bengalhas moved North-Northwestwards and intensified into a Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA”. It is centered at about (365) Nautical miles West-Southwest of CoCo Island, (475) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Hainggyigyun, (615) Nautical miles South- Southwest of Sittwe, (415) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Nicobar Islands (India), (280) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Port  Blair(India) and (665) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh). Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 11thMay, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions, and scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

The Condition of Cumulonimbus Cloud: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing over the Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Shan State. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squall with rough seas are likely at time Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35-40) mph. Sea will be moderate to rough elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
