SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain have been fairly widespread in Eastern Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Bago Region, isolated in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperature were (7°C) above January average temperature in Kayah State, (5°C) to (6°C) above January average temperatures in Bago Region, (Eastern and Southern)Shan, Chin and Mon States, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region, Rakhine and Kayin States, (2°C) above January average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Northern Shan States and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (2°C) in Hakha and (6°C) each in Putao, Falam, Tiddim and Pyinoolwin. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Coco- Island (0.35)inch, Minesat and Loikaw (0.16)inch each and Bawlakhae (0.12)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at(13:30)hrs MST today, a low pressure area has formed over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7th JANUARY, 2018: Rain will be scattered in Bago Region, (Eastern and Southern)Shan and Kayah States, isolated in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%). Weather will be generally fair in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3 - 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States.
