SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has generally fair in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (4°C) below January average temperature in Taninthayi Region, (2°C) below January average temperature in Eastern Shan State and (2°C) above January average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region and Kachin State, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States, (5°C) to (6°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Southern Shan State and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (0°C) in Hakha, (5°C) in Mongyang, (6°C) in Namsam and (7°C) in Putao.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial India Ocean moved West-Northwestwards and intensified into a Depression over South Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (530) Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island, (650) Nautical miles Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar), (360) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka), (440) Nautical miles East-Northeast of Colombo (Sri Lanka)and (480) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Karaikal(India). Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Bay and West central Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 31st January, 2023: Light rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Strong winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong winds may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4-7) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Shan State.
