SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Southern Shan State and isolated in Magway, Bago Regions. Weather has been generally fair in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) above December average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Rakhine States, (3°C) to (4°C) above December average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan, Kayah States and (6°C) above December average temperature in Naypyitaw and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-3°C) in Hakha, (4°C) in Tiddim and (7°C) each in Kyaukmae, Heho and Pyinoolwin. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded was (0.08) inch in Pyay.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean still persists. It is likely to move northwestwards and intensify into a depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast during next (48)hrs. Weather is cloudy over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd December, 2022: Rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be generally fair in Kayin, Mon States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Shan, Kayah, Kayin States.
