SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been generally fair in Chin State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (5°C) below December average temperature in Chin State, (2°C) below December average temperatures in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions, (2°C) above December average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Bago Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Kayin States, (3°C) above December average temperatures in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and (5°C) above December average temperature in Naypyitaw and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-3°C) in Hakha, (4°C) in Tiddim, (6°C) in Namsam and (8°C) each in Heho, Loilin, Mongyang and Falam.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean still persists. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th December, 2022: Weather will be generally fair in Chin State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated light rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan States.
