BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the South Bay and a few clouds over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (18:30)hrs MST today, the tropical storm “Kai-tak” over the South China Sea is moving West-Southwest and it’s centered at about (340)miles East-Northeast of Dungun( Malaysia). It is forecast to reach near Malaysia and decline as a tropical depression during the next (4)days.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL AFTERNOON OF THE 22nd DECEMBER, 2017: Likelihood of isolated light rain in Tanintayi Region. Degree of certainly is (60%).Weather will be partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region,Kachin, Chin States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coasts. Surface winds speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 - 9)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coasts and (4-6) feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Decrease of night temperatures in Shan State.
