SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Magway Region and Chin state, fairly widespread  in  Lower  Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls inMagway Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (9.21) inches in Mudon, (9.06) inches in Launglon, (8.94) inches in Kawkareik, (8.51) inches in Mawlamyine, (7.87) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (7.44) inches in Chaungsone, (5.98) inches in Kyeikkhame,(5.59) inches in Paung, (4.00) inches each in PaingKyone and Kyeikdon, (3.74) inches in Dawei and (2.83) inches in Pyinmana(Walgyi).

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and weak to moderate over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th August, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in UpperSagaingRegion and Kachin, Chin, RakhineStates and widespread in theremaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:Squall with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35- 40)mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Continuations of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
