SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw and Chin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and (Northern and Southern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (2.75) inches in Kawthaung, (2.41) inches in Myitkyina, (2.25) inches in Central Yangon, (2.21) inches in Pathein, (1.97) inches in Gwa, (1.89) inches each in Putao and Theinzayet, (1.81) inches in Hlegu, (1.73) inches in Da Nu Byu and (1.65) inches each in Bago, Okkan and Belin.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th July, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions ‌and Northern Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about (7-10) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 9th July, 2022:       Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon Region, fairly widespread Naypyitaw and scattered in Mandalay Region.
