SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has advanced into Deltaic areas. Weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay and Bago Regions, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States, faily widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and  Shan  State, widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regional heavy falls in Mandalay Region, isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) below May average temperatures in Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions, Northern and Eastern Shan, Mon States, (5°C) to (6°C) below May average temperatures in Mandalay Region, Kayah and Kayin States, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (38°C) each in Hkamti, Homalin, Mawlaik, Kalaywa, Kalay and Yeu. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Paung (4.45)inches, Launglon (3.54)inches, Dawei (2.72)inches, Mawlamyine (2.64)inches, Thandaunggyi (2.48)inches, Pathein (2.20)inches, Taunggyi and Naypyitaw (Yezin) (2.09) inches each.  

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observation at (13:30) hrs MST today, the low pressure area over East Central Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has become unimportant. Monsoon is strong in the Andaman Sea, South and East Central Bay of Bengal  and weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 22nd May, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Sagaing and Magway Regions and Chin State, scattered in Mandalay Region, Kachin, Shan and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Bago Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Likelihood of decrease of rain in the Upper Myanmar areas.
