SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin and (Northern & Eastern) Shan States, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan State and widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Yangon Region and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Northern Dagon (4.72)inches, Khayan and Paingkyone (3.07)inches each, Kungyangon and Hainggyigyun (2.87)inches each, Central Yangon (2.83)inches, Hmawbi (2.80)inches, Meiktila (2.72)inches, Kamamaung (2.52)inches, Hpapun (2.44)inches, Yangon (Kaba-aye) and Phyarpon (2.36)inches each and Maubin (2.32)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the West Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal now lies over westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is forecast to further intensify into a depression during next (12)hrs. Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th OCTOBER, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kachin and (Northern & Eastern)Shan States, scattered in Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and Chin State and widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-10)feet in off and along Myanmar Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State.
