BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Central Bay of Bengal still persist. Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Eastcentral Bay and monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (18:30) hrs MST today, the tropical storm “Kompasu” which is crossing the Upper Vietnam coast near Hoang Mai continue to move west wards and it is forecast to weak into a land depression.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 15th October, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Chin, Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7– 9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States.
