SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region, Northern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and (Eastern& Southern)Shan State and widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Paungbyin (5.51)inches, Myeik (3.94)inches, Loilin (2.32)inches, Kawthaung (1.73)inches, Shwegyin (1.29)inches, Myaungmya (1.10)inches, Paung (1.06)inches and Mudon (1.02)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, a low pressure area has formed over the Central Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th OCTOBER, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Northern Shan and Chin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago Region, Rakhine and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and (Eastern & Southern)Shan States and widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainly is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-10) feet in along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States.
