SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin and Northern Shan States, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Mon State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Chin and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kayin State and widespread in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, (Eastern and Southern)Shan and Kayah States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay Region and isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Pyawbwe (2.40)inches, Patheingyi (2.13)inches, Meiktila (2.12)inches, Paletwa (1.97)inches, Sagaing (1.89)inches, Yamethin (1.77)inches, Myeik (1.69)inches, Hakha (1.65)inches, Taungtha (1.64)inches and Taunggu (1.54)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th September, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kachin State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region, Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State. Degree of certainly is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-11)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4-8)feet in along Rakhine Coast.
