SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions, Northern Shan and Chin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Yangon Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State and widespread in Bago and Taninthayi Regions, with isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Nyaunglaybin (3.86)inches, Kawthaung (2.60)inches, Natogyi (2.57)inches, Kyeikkhame (2.09)inches, Zaungtu (2.01)inches, Madauk (1.93)inches, Machanbaw (1.85)inches, Homalin and Phyarpon (1.61)inches each.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorus over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the Depression over the South China Sea is crossing near Hanoi (Vietnam).
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th September, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kachin and Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, and Mandalay Regions, Shan (East and South), Chin, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-11)feets in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4-8)feets in along Rakhine Coast.
