SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region, rain or thundershower have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region, Northern Shan and Chin States, scattered in  Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayah and Kayin states and fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and Eastern Shan State, widespread in  Bago, Yangon and Tanintayi Regions, Southern Shan and Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kawthaung (2.68)inches, Kyeikkhame (2.28)inches, Hmawbi (1.22)inches, Khayan (1.14)inches and Kawkareik  (1.06)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (11:30)hrs MST today, today morning tropical storm  ‘Doksuri’ over Lao downgraded from tropical storm to tropical depression, which reached over Thailand and continuous moving Westward direction.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th September, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagiang Region and Chin State, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, Kachin and Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Kayah State, widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan (East and South), Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional Squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-11)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4-7)feet in along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
