SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Yangon and Ayeyarwaddy Regions, Shan(North & East) and Rakhine States and widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Bago, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions and Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Yay (4.77)inches, Hainggyigyun (4.33)inches, Paung (4.13)inches, Launglone (3.46)inches, Nyaunglaybin (3.22)inches, Paingkyone (3.11)inches, Hlaingbwe (2.83)inches, Kayan (2.71)inches, Hinthada and Dawei (2.36)inches each, Myeik (2.28)inches, Madauk (2.20)inches and Bhamo (2.16)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal and Odisha Coast (India) still persists. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th August, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah States, widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7-11)feet in along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Shan and Rakhine States.
