BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16thAugust, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and  Mandalay Regions,   widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State, isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon -Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 - 11)feet in Gulf of Mottama, along Mon - Taninthayi Coast and (5 - 7) feet in Deltaic, along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
