SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Northern Shan State,  scattered in Magway Region, Southern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Uppaer Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State and widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Thandwe (9.89)inches, Myauk U (8.43)inches, Kyaukpyu (7.44)inches, Kyauktaw (5.67)inches, Manaung (4.65)inches, Myitkyina (3.42)inches, Hainggyikyun (3.23)inches, Phyu (3.11)inches, Taungkok (2.87)inches, Paletwa (2.83)inches, Khayan (2.56)inches and Hkamti (2.37)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13thAugust, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, (Eastern and Southern)Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Northern Shan State, widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 - 10) feet in along Rakhine Coast and (5 - 7) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama and along Mon - Taninthayi Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States.
