SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw and Magway Regions and Chin State, fairly widespread in Shan (South and East) State and widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in  Ayeyarwady Region, Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kyaukphyu (5.20)inches, Hainggyigyun (5.04)inches, Labutta (4.02)inches, Bhamo, Taungkok and Paung (3.30)inches each, Thaton (3.07)inches, Bago (2.64)inches, Moekok (2.60)inches, Kamamaung (2.53) inches, Hpa-an (2.44)inches, Yay and Kyeikmayaw (2.36)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd August, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, scattered in Magway Region and Nothern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Southern Shan and Chin States, widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated  heavy  falls in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon -Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.Wave height will be about (8-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coast and (5 - 7)feet in along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 3rd August, 2017:  One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainly is (100%).
