SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been cloudy in

Shan (North and East) State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Sagaing, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, scattered in

Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Kayin State and widespread in Bago

and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Mon State and isolated heavy falls in

Mandalay and Yangon Regions, Kayin States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Mawlamyine (6.14)inches, Kyeikmayaw (5.51)inches,

Khayan (3.90)inches, Kyar-In-Seikgyi  (3.68)inches, Mudon (3.58)inches, Yamethin (3.55) inches, Chaungsone (2.95)inches,

Thandaunggyi and Paung (2.60)inches each, Kyeikkhame (2.44)inches and Bago (2.12)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 31st July, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region and Eastern Shan State,

scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and Shan (North & South) States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions,

widespread in Bago Region, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and

Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon -Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind

speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, along Mon - Taninthayi Coast and (5 - 7)feet in along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Increase of rian in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 31st July, 2017:  Isolated rain or thundershowers.  Degree of certainly is (100%).
