SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, scattered in Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan (North and East) State, widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State, isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Bago Regions, Kachin and Kayin States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hainggyikyun (7.36)inches, Kyeikmayaw (6.14)inches, Yay (5.90)inches, Mudon and Kyarinseikgyi (5.47)inches each, Paung (5.35) inches, Mawlamyine (4.88)inches, Chaungsone (3.86)inches, Bago (3.66)inches, Belin (3.50) inches, Myaungmya (3.46)inches, Machanbaw and Kyeikkhame (3.39)inches each and Thaton (3.19)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th July, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw and Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan (North and East) State, widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States. STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon -Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, along Mon - Taninthayi Coast and (5 - 7)feet in Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
