SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain has been fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Kachin State, weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Rakhine State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) below January average temperatures in Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions, Northern Shan State and (2°C) below January average temperature in Chin State, (3°C) above January average temperature in Mon State and (2°C) above January average temperatures in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (1°C) each in Namsam and Hakha, (2°C) in Heho, (3°C) in Thipaw and (4°C) each in Mongyang, Falam, Tiddim and Mogoke. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Myeik (0.91)inch and Kawthaung (0.08)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and generally fair elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th JANUARY, 2018: Rain will be scattered in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Kachin State. Degree of certainly is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kayin and Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3 - 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of decrease of night temperature in Shan, Chin and Kayah States.
