SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Shan(South and North) States, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Chin and Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Yay (8.98) inches, Kyauktaw (7.04) inches, Dawei (4.52)inches, Launglone (4.33)inches, Paletwa (3.66) inches, Maungdaw (3.10)inches, Myeik (2.95)inches, Tamu (2.80)inches, Thaton and Mawlamyine (2.60)inches each and Thandaunggyi (2.36)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st July, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Shan(South and North)  and Kayah States and widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7 - 10)feet in whole coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
