SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kachin and Northern Shan States, widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan (East and South), Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Dawei (6.06) inches, Launglone (5.94)inches, Hainggyikyun (5.67)inches, Labutta (5.28)inches, Paung (5.08)inches, Phyarpoon (4.96)inches, Hlaingbwe (4.80)inches, Kamamaung (4.72)inches, Paing Kyone (4.69)inches and Kyaikmayaw (4.57)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over northwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal is remained practically stationary. It is centered at about (50)miles south-southeast of Puri and (65)miles east-southeast of Gopalpur India. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and cross Odisha coast between Gopalpur and Puri by tonight. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th July, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Northern Shan State and widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bagon, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan (East and South), Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Lower Saginag, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Chin, Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin State. Degree of certainly is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9 - 14) feet along Myanmar Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon.
