SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region and Kayah State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin State, scattered in Upper Sagiang and Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Northern Shan State and widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan (East and South), Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hpa-an (8.03)inches, Thaton (7.95)inches, Thandwe (6.03)inches, Taungkok (5.20)inches, Kyeikmayaw (4.09)inches, Myeik (3.90)inches, Kyeikkhame (3.62)inches, Gwa and Kawkayeit (3.58)inches each, Paung (3.54)inches, Yay (3.46)inches, Launglone (3.35) inches, Mudon (3.27)inches and Mawlamyine (3.23)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha and West Bengal Coast (India). It is forecast to further intensify during next (48)hrs. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th July, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Chin and Kayah States and widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States, isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady and Southern Shan States. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8 - 12) feet along Myanmar Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
