SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in (North and East) Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Kachin and Kayah States, scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Southern Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Rakhine State, widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthyi Regions, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Yangon Region and Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Belin (4.13) inches, Khayan (3.12) inches, Kyeikkhame (2.64) inches, Pathein (2.60) inches, Hainggyikyun (2.36) inches, Thaton (2.32) inches, Myauk U (2.20) inches, launglone (2.17) inches, Kungyangon (1.93) inches, Labutta (1.85) inches and Yangon (Mingaladon) (1.58)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:00)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the West Central Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th June, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine,  Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Bago Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, isolated in (Eastern and Southern) Shan and Kayah States with isolated heavy falls in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times  off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6 - 10) feet in Myanmar Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Chin and Rakhine States.

FORECAST FOR MANDALAY AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 10th June, 2017: Isolated  rain or thundershowers.  Degree of certainly is (100%).

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw and Mandalay Region, widespread in Yangon Region.
