SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Taninthayi Region. Rain or thundershowers has been isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region. Night temperatures were (2°C) above January average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kachin and Kayin States, (5°C) to (6°C) above January average temperatures in Mandalay and Bago Regions, (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah and Mon States, (7°C) above January average temperature in Southern Shan State and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-1°C) in Hakha, (2°C) in Ramthlo, (4°C) in Tiddim, (6°C) each in Falam and Matupi. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Ngathaichaung (3.74)inches, Tharrawady (2.92)inches, Zalun (2.83)inches, Kya-In-Seik-Kyi (2.74) inches, Hinthada (2.16)inches, Pinlaung (1.73)inches, Kyeikmayaw (1.61)inches, Hlaingtat amd Chaungsone (1.22) inches each, Kyaukmae and Lunkyaw (1.18)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th January, 2019: Rain will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah and Kayin States and fairly widespread in the remaing Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States.
