BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm (PHETHAI) over Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwards and weakened in to a Cyclonic Storm(PHETHAI). It is centered at about (200)miles North-Northeast of Chennai(India), about (65) miles East-Southeast of Machilipatnam and about (70)miles South of Kakinada.Weather is cloudy over the Southeast Bay and Westcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th December, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, isolated in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin and Rakhine States.
