SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Mon State. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) below November average temperatures in Yangon Region, Southern Shan and Rakhine States, (2°C) below November average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region, Northern Shan and Kayah States, (2°C) above November average temperature in Kayin and Mon States and about November average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (1°C) in Hakha, (4°C) in Loilin, (5°C) in Heho, (7°C) each in Pinlaung and Moekok and (8°C) each in Nansam, Tiddim, Matupi and Pyinoolwin.The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Dawei (1.42)inches, Paung (0.71)inch and Kawthaung (0.55)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Northeast Sirilanka now lie over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Tamilnadu coast (India) still persists. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Southwest and West central Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over Malay Peninsula has moved Westwards. It is forecast to move South Andaman Sea during next (12)hrs.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd November, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, isolated in Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be generally fair in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and aloung Mon-Tanintayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)mph. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (2-5) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Slight decrease of night temperature in Upper Myanmar areas.
